L’Oréal UK Snitches on Dior

Looks like the beauty industry big wigs are bringing out the claws (and snitch sirens). According to Fashionista, L’Oréal UK blew the whistle on a Dior Show New Look Mascara ad featuring Natalie Portman.

Details after the jump.

Allegedly L’Oréal reported the ad to the UK Advertising Standards Authority claiming the photo exaggerated the results of the mascara with Photoshop. The ad was then pulled. Funny. The snitching party was banned by the ADA for a similar offense. Pot calling the kettle maybe?

Dior claims the image was intended for a lipstick ad and that Portman isn’t wearing falsies. However, the brand does admit retouching the photo to “separate/increase the length and curve of a number of her lashes and to replace/fill a number of missing or damaged lashes, for a more stylised, uniform and tidy effect.”
