Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Finally, corporations are starting to give a damn about the environment. We’ve seen more and more eco-friendly brands surfacing, and now Levi’s has jumped on the tree hugging ┬átrend. The staple label, known for its denim, is developing a method to turn recycled plastic bottles and food trays into fiber.

Learn more after the break.

The plastic will be made into polyester fibers which will then be woven in with cotton to make a comfortable, functional denim for the Waste<Less line. Each pair of jeans will be made of at least 20 percent recycled material (equal to 8-12 bottles). Sounds like a cool idea, we just hope the jeans are still machine washable.
