If you think the girl power movement began with the Spice Girls, you’re sadly mistaken. Ladies have been kicking ass and taking names for decades! One of the most notable badass chicks has to be Courtney Love. A rocker chick married to Kurt Cobain? She had to be killer. We Are The Market gave us the heads up that female only brand MadeMe is paying homage to lady Love in its SS13 collection.
More after the break.
Although MadeMe is a ‘side project’ of Erin Magee’s (shes been with Supreme for almost 10 years), it is making major noise with its ’90′s grunge a la Courtney Love’ collection. The feminine streetwear label was know for its collaborations with Vans, Stussy, and Schott, but with a 20-piece collection hitting stores soon the brand is earning more respect. Courtney is known for her bleached locks, red lipstick, leather pants, and ripped tees. MadeMe is following in true Courtney grunge fashion with images of a leopard-collared moto jacket, a lace covered sleeveless denim button-down and fuzzy leopard peacoat.
We expect more images to leak after the full collection premiers at Capsule.
