Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto has teamed up with Hermès for the third installment of the Hermès Editeur project.
More info after the break.
The project was designed to fuse high art with textiles (the brand has done a graffiti collabo also), and with this release I’d say mission accomplished.
Building upon Sugimoto’s “Color of Shadows,” which focused on the use of light angles to make shadows, the collaboration uses the iconic Hermès scarf as a canvas for color gradient images.
To create the extremely limited scarf collection, 20 Polaroids featuring color gradients were selected and then printed silk scarves using inkjet. Hand numbered and unique, only seven of each design was printed. Don’t worry, each 56″ x 56″ scarf comes with a case, certificate of authenticity, and a book so you know its real.
