Trash : Fashion Inspiration
We’ve all heard it. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Apparently its true. A group of design students from London’s Central Saint Martins elevated the phrase by developing a line of pieces inspired by our everyday trash. The team of students, named 8=10, with Kenji Kawasumi and Jaeyeon Lee earned themselves a spread in Interview Russia praising those who are green (like the Birkenstock brand who’s been at it for a while), but throwing shade at those in it for the green.
The theme of sustainable fashion is consistent throughout the spread. The dumpster in the background, ‘Starfucks Coffee’ logo, and foam insulation dresses make it obvious that the brand is shaking its finger at the corporations and consumers who aren’t environmentally friendly.
