Striking Rose Gold

Before the moment passes, I’d like to point out thar the hour of rose gold has been upon us. And what a beautiful time it is. There is no more beautiful time keeper more than this piece from Cartier’s new Ballon Blue.  Damn if I only had 30 grand…

I’m not tardy to the pink party so much as BROKE AS ALL GET OUT. I have coveted all things rose gold and been settling for the more proletariat copper and bronze for a hot minute. I was given a gorgeous copper two finger ring.  I bought a bronze necklace, then I thrifted a bronze men’s chain link bracelet. None of those have hit the spot. I still want a rose gold watch.

But why? Can’t I tell time on my cell phone? Yes. And on my lap top and my desk top and microwave and car stereo and that LED sign at the carwash. Aren’t I always late anyway? Well damn bitch, take it easy!  Watches are just sexy to me. I feel composed and commanding when I wear one.  Rose gold watches make a statement without overpowering your outfit.  This warm and current metal keeps the classic from becoming archaic. I particularly like such a feminine shade in more sizeable and stately shapes.

I’ve curated this selection of rose gold watches which all feature both a rose gold face and band, and a much more reasonable price tag than the Cartier.

Michael Kors Mid Size Chronograph Watch. This is one of the first I spied in stores quite some time ago.  I’m not into his sportswear, but I would wear the shit out of this watch.

Fossil Stella Plated Stainless Steel Watch. This watch is a product of the trickledown effect from designer to department stores. Still a dignified prospect, though, and at a $115 you probably won’t have to rearrange your rent money.

Nixon The Spur.  I like Nixon watches in general because the brand mixes luxury feel with street appeal.  I think their women’s line does our constituency justice by offering a range of shapes from diesel to dainty. This is watch is what time it is.

I had to throw the Mavado Bold Chronograph Bracelet Watch into the mix because it is above and BEYOND. It’s giving me Metropolis futuristic; old and new.  This design reminds you that a watch is both a machine and an accessory. There is something romantic about analog isn’t there? This Mavado number swept me off my feet before the $850 price tag made me pass out.
