Longing For Longchamp
This Longchamp satchel is so supple it even soothes my New England cynicism. As soon as the clock strikes August, we lament the coming of the cold. This fall, I want something sturdy and handsome. I stroked the Longchamp Cosmos Kudu in distressed tobacco leather long enough to arouse the suspicions/strike up a conversation about totes vs. satchels with the Bloomingdales sales lady. Shorter strap length? Rectangle not square? Whatever. Want.
I love short handles, eye-catching hardware, and vintage-inspired details. The Longchamp bag turned us both out on the sales floor with its rose gold zipper and strong shape.
I’m over any sort of studs, fringe, and chain straps. I was never doing snake print. Right now, there’s only room on my arm for something bossy and businesslike, with maybe a little back-to-school nostalgia. The classic colorway is chocolate: milk or dark. But I am also seeing this shape looking dapper in navy, stone, stripes, and color blocked. These aren’t the Longchamp Cosmos Kudo but they fit the bill, and with a few more fastenings to boot:
