Fashion Flashback : Catherine Deneuve
Catherine Deneuve is a French actress who is greatly known for her role in Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. She was a daughter to actor Maurice Dorléac and actress Renée Deneuve and also with her impeccable taste for fashion, she was the face of Chanel No.5. There were numerous ads of her heavenly visage, so much actually that she was named the most elegant woman in 1970. Yves Saint Laurent considered her his muse and designed multiple dresses for her movie rolls such as: Belle de Jour, The Hunger, La Chamade, La Sirene du Mississippi and Liza. She went on to became the face of the Yves Saint Laurent skincare line and more recently the face of L’Oreal Paris. She had roles in over a 100 movies, won numerous award and still until this day makes movies. Deneuve’s fashion resume grows as she ages: she recently designed a bag for the Goyard auction for cancer research. Her fashion sense is versatile and on point, it seems like she can pull of anything – sweet, girl next door, or the polar opposite looking chic in a tailored man’s suit.
