Fashion Flashback: Siouxsie Sioux
Siouxsie Sioux was that girl that appeared with the Sex Pistols at all there press conferences and early TV appearances being a part of the “Bromley Contingent”. At the same time becoming well known in the London punk scene for her glam, fetish and bondage attire (which all became staples of punk fashion). Sioux’s first gig was with her group Suzie and the Banshees (as an unrehearsed fill-in at the 100 Club Punk Festival – organized by Malcolm McLaren) buy they did not know or play any songs; they improvised as Sioux recited poems and prayers. That all changed rapidly and was illustrated by their first single Hong Kong Garden which hit the UK’s top 10 in 1978. She is the beacon of female punk fashion and later, we credit her for being the godmother to goth. More Siouxsie after the jump….
