Hot Glue Gun Controversy
We received an angry comment from someone who we are assuming works for Mecura NYC and claim THEY originated the chain sunglasses (called the Love/Hate glasses at Patricia Fields) and own the copyright for this design. Their comment after the jump…
” Is ripping off creative artists who make each piece by hand and actually have copyrights but not the personality to sue the makings of royalty. No wonder the world is so troubled. How about some licensing to the poor artists who make their living selling those chain sunglasses? You talk about 23 glasses like they were a million. The creaters at MERCURA NYC received hard copy publicity all over the world for chain sunglasses and sold thousands of that design over the last decdes. In our opinion, You are the blogger, blogger, blogger………..this is the virtual world. All words and no creative activities in the eyewear department, only copies, like the way a computer sends out billions of copies, does not mean the computer wrote the words! You know MERCURA NYC copyrighted those chain sunglasses and reading glases but you do not listen or pay them! ”
Well if you must know, we are not just a blogger, blogger, blogger… We make sunglasses too! And have gotten ripped off also, so we feel your pain…. But I have never heard of this brand and you act like I should? Also if you are going to sue – go after Chanel because they seem to have copied you too – and me thinks they have more money than Kerin Rose!
Here are the one’s from Mecura NYC – see below
Too bad you don’t have a picture of Rihanna wearing them! Here’s some more styles-
Very cool and smart – and below are the Kerin Rose version – judge for yourselves….
If Mercura NYC is right – she definitely chomped you!
