Forever 21 Finally Goes To Court
Forever 21 has made a very succesful business of ripping off, we mean copying talented designers. In the picture above, Forever 21 are top row, and Trovata are bottom row) and selling their knock offs for cheap prices. Finally something is being done about it! Trovata will be taking Forever 21 to court following a 2 year legal battle.
Other companies have unsuccessfully tried to take down Forever 21 because they cited them for violating their copyrights. Under current law, only original prints or graphics on clothes can be copyrighted — as they are considered artwork — and Trovata’s suit focuses on Forever 21’s copying of its unique button placements, decorative stitching, fabric patterns and other details.
We are really interested in the outcome of this case. We are hoping that justice prevails and Forever 21 is forced to come up with their own ideas.
