Christian Lacroix, Troubled Time
The fashion house, Christian Lacroix, is in need of a new financial backer. The Falic Group, who purchased the fashion house in 2005 is looking to sell a large stake of the company to private investors. Lacroix has seen a drastic decrease since last year. Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus stopped carrying the label last fall and Saks did not place an order from their 2009 collection. Other fashion houses such as Chanel and Dior, license out their name to create sunglasses, perfume and other accessories – which creates a steady stream of income, Lacroix does not have the same revenue streams to support it. Maybe their collaboration with the sneaker company Gola will save their business? We doubt it….
