“Brooklyn” T-shirt = Instant Success, with Losers

Notice the hot girl with the crazy make-up? Of course, but what caught my eye was the Brooklyn Garfield t-shirt on the schlub. Brooklyn, like no other borough of NYC has the most “wannabe down” transplants and the epidemic is growing. These space invaders wear their new found pride loud and proud across their chests. More of Brooklyn’s new gentrifiers after the jump…..

So it’s okay to have pride in your borough if you’re a cute girl, but otherwise, you’re a loser? And hey, what’s with picking on Bay Ridge? It’s a perfectly valid hood. Although I agree… she looked like a Ridge girl.

i love bay ridge!!!!! i have mad peeps there! i wasn’t dissing her at all – she is has an awesome studded belt – she is truly real deal.

Really jacksonwhole? Thanks for enlightening us… but who was confused about that?

I hate these leeches with a deep passion, if the Bronx ever gets this bad I’m moving… to my grave.

Oh please…who gives a crap if someone wears a Brooklyn shirt?

I think the fact that you’re so upset about it outs you as the elitist creep you really are.

I am now tempted to purchase a Brooklyn shirt just because I know it will piss off a bunch of hipster asshats.

  • Carolyn said:

Thank you Kats! Just my thoughts!

i think everyone getting heated about someones opinion of a style of shirt is hilarious. Its a free country people… anything pisses ’someone’ off these days…. simmer down before ya’ll boil over!

Man, I am as Brooklyn as Brooklyn can get, and I have to chime in on this. What has happened to Brooklyn is a growing problem, but a problem that has exploded! It has been happening since the 90’s, and that’s a decade of the ‘invasion’!

From softball, wine drinking lesbian’s, to wannabe actors looking to flex their humble abodes…. the shit is ri-goddam-dick-ulous!

Those who are from the BK, know. It takes a set of mothafukin balls to really get down.

Got to Prospect Park, and you can hob nob with a bunch of these Massachusettes [however you fukin spell it] transplants!

It should now be called Brooklyn, Massachusetts!

I want the Old NY Back! Fuck the New New York!
Motherfuckers from Japan frontin’ like they down….. lmao.

Native NY Nigga from the BK!

is brooklyn actually in the house??

Man, I am happy someone created a post about this. Born & Raised and really not wanting to leave it, I bleed Brooklyn and am soooooo frustrated with the influx of gentrifying hipster scum that has come to almost represent the current day BK.

Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate all of the new found art in our borough, and I can’t say that I won’t frequent a nice little cafe or bistro in an area that I’d probably be scared shitless to go to 10 years ago (read: redhook) – But, come on man… Don’t come at us real-deal BK heads on some “OH I LOVEEEEEEEEE BROOKLYN” shit. You don’t even know what the fuck Brooklyn is –

I liken the hipster-approach to falling in love with a dude and he becoming your world only to find out that the guy has a history of vast drug-abuse and was arrested 6x for beating his ex girl. – Just cause he looks good now doesn’t mean he’s perfect and I wish that the fucking trust-funders would take a step back and represent what BK really is about.

Struggle and making something out of the nothing that was handed to you. Brooklyn people didn’t live in ratty beat-down apartments in derelict neighborhoods because it was cool, we did it because thats what our life was. Calling Mommy or Daddy for extra money or to fund an art project? Not an option.

Normally i’d end something like this quoting BIG on some ‘if you don’t know, now you know nigga’. But, even after continuous lectures on the subject…. these phonies would still be clueless.

I’m from Bklyn but only visit now. I’m a transplant on the West Coast but realize that you can’t take Bklyn out of the boy. I think Nik said it best. Transplants to NY in general have no idea of our history. If hipsters were to walk the streets of Williamsburg or Red Hook in the 70’s they would have had their ass handed to them. Not to say that is necessarily a good thing but Bklyn was primarily a place for the working man. That is why our parents lived there. It’s what we all had in common. I recently walked through Williamsburg and couldn’t beleive what I saw. It was lame not cool. I felt sorry for all the Hasids who are fleeing to Queens. What is so wrong with being regular. Most Brooklynites have great hearts, some are assholes. Assholes are everywhere though. If you’re going to invade a neighborhood you should at least know something about the place your invading.
