Hermès takes flight
“I was inspired by a woman, I forgot her name, an American pilot with very short, wavy hair who was wearing an aviator jacket — which I love — and a little scarf that was so Hermes,” Designer Jean Paul Gaultier said “That’s when I said-ah ha, that’s it.”
Gaultier is obviously talking about Amelia Earhart, the famous feminist pilot who mysteriously disappeared during an attempt to fly around the world in 1937. This fun and creative collection from Hermès had a heavy focus on accessories because this is the brands major source of revenue. We love the little aviation inspiration but know these caps and goggles would give us some major hat head.
