Last year Anna Sui made it her mission to save the dwindling Garment Center of New York City, now Nanette Lepore is doing her part, specifically pushing for more affordable rents for garment makers in Midtown. Postcards, like the one above, will be on the seats at her show bearing the simple message, Save the Garment Center. The postcards will be stamped and addressed to City Hall.  Lepore is also launching Facebook and Twitter pages to generate momentum via social networking. Maybe this will have some influence on Manhattan real estate, but we think that it will take alot more than this to save the dying Garment Center.
